Heath Bell could sign with a team as quickly as this Thursday. Bell spoke with The San Diego Union-Tribune today and said he is expecting a three year deal for his next contract which will likely come from an East Coast team, possibly the Red Sox. Bell has the same agents as Papelbon and has said he would like to know where he is going next year before he leaves for a vacation to Fiji on Thursday. It must nice to have someone offer you millions of dollars and then you get to jet off for Fiji.
On a side note, the Red Sox have not spoken with Scott Boras about Ryan Madson so it looks like it is Bell, Cordero or Bard as the 2012 closer.
