The Georgia Bulldogs’ football program took a major hit to their 2014 season on Thursday when it was announced that star tailback Todd Gurley has been suspended indefinitely after alleged NCAA rule violations the school announced.

According to ESPN’s Joe Schad, the investigation will surround whether or not Gurley was paid for autographs and memorabilia. Bulldogs’ head coach Mark Richt said in a statement, “I’m obviously dissapointed, the important thing is to turn all our attention toward preparation for Missouri.

The thirteenth ranked Bulldogs take on the twenty-third ranked Missouri Tigers on Saturday in an important SEC Eastern Division matchup.

Gurley was a Heisman favorite coming into the season and has been living up to the hype so far this season as he had rushed for 773 yards and eight touchdowns in Georgia’s six games this season. He also ran back a 100-yard kick earlier in the season as well.

Running backs, Nick Cubb and Brendan Douglas are expected to take most of the carries in Gurley’s absence.
