Hell in a Cell Highlights

How exactly do you hash out a feud in the best way possible? Well that would be on the top of a steel cage in a Hell in the Cell match like Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins on Sunday night.

One of the best moments from Sunday night’s Pay-Per-View was watching Ambrose and Rollins chase each other up the sides of the cage, beat each other in the back with a kendo stick, and then plummet from the side onto the announcement table.

Ambrose and Rollins were being carted off on stretchers after their 20-foot fall from the side of the cage when Ambrose decided he had not had enough. He decided to unstrap Rollins from his stretcher and drag him back into the cell and lock it while he hit him with every object available underneath the ring.

The best part about this match was how much it reminded me of the Hell in a Cell match with the Undertaker and Mankind in 1998. This is one of the most epic and violent matches of all time and it is easily unforgettable. Now the Ambrose/Rollins match holds a close second.

Fans like to argue that the violence in WWE is lacking in excitement. But Ambrose and Rollins brought us back to a time where you could not take your eyes off the screen because every hit was with some type of object.  It’s the kind of hardcore wrestling that every fan wants to see.

The point of having a Hell in a Cell cage match is to keep unwanted superstars out of the ring so two people can fight each other without interruptions. But in this match somehow, someone got through without even unlocking the cage.

Just as Ambrose was about to curb stomp Rollins through cement cinder blocks and settle the ongoing feud, the lights went out. As the lights came back on, smoke appeared in the center of the ring along with Bray Wyatt’s lantern. Wyatt appeared through the smoke, attacking Ambrose and ultimately helping Rollins win.

This feud was not only undecided because Ambrose’s attempt to win was compromised, but a new rivalry has started between Wyatt and Ambrose. Why did he do what he did?

Another highlight from the WWE Pay-Per-View was the announcement that the winner of the John Cena and Randy Orton match would face WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar at some point in the future. Cena came out victorious in the match, which means he is going on to finally end the animosity between him and the beast Lesnar.

Golddust and Stardust also held onto their tag-team championship against the Uso’s, as well as Sheamus holding onto his United States Championship. Nikki Bella beat her sister Brie Bella who will have to be Nikki’s servant for 30 days, AJ Lee held onto her Diva’s championship in her match against Paige, Dolph Ziggler beat Cesaro in two straight falls to retain the Intercontinental title, and Rusev remained undefeated versus the Big Show in a tap out.
