This is it. The Pirates are 34-32 and headed into the gauntlet of interleague player. This weekend they play the Indians, who are struggling, but with a DH and everything, which worries me. On the bright side, Kevin Correia starts on the road tonight, so his weird PNC-related struggles (which probably don’t mean much in the long run, but they’re here now and we’re running with it) should be over.
Really, if the Pirates want to keep this run at .500/a playoff spot up, I think they need four wins against the Indians and Orioles before they play the Red Sox and the Blue Jays. First pitch tonight is at 7:05; Correia for the Bucs, Josh Tomlin for the Indians.
