If you’re unhappy with Game 5 between the Blues and Stars starting at 12pm CST, you have only horse racing to thank. The broadcast of Game 5, which will air on NBC, begins at 12pm and is scheduled to end in time for prerace coverage of the Derby at 3pm.
What happens if the Blues and Stars need overtime – or multiple overtimes – to settle things? NBC plans to have the local affiliates in both St. Louis (KSDK) and Dallas stay on hockey even if it overlaps coverage of the Derby. Meanwhile, fans around the country would find the Blues and Stars moved over to NBCSN.
Long story short, Blues fans should have nothing to worry about. However, if the Blues game runs really long and you’re really looking for some horse racing coverage you might be out of luck.
