The Boston Celtics championship trophy tour (note: there's a tour?) is kicking off in Burlington, Vermont today.
The trophy will be on display on the upper block of Church Street from noon to 2 p.m. on Sept. 15, according to Heather Walker, the Celtics public relations director. Following a short rally with speakers, fans will have a chance to have their pictures taken with the trophy. In case of rain, the rally will be held in the Burlington Town Center mall.
The Celtics will send up…. ummm…. that guy who plays. And…. another guy… who… uh.. plays too.
"We don't know the players at this time. We are trying to confirm at least one or two," Walker said.
Yeah… that means you're not getting KG and Ray. You're getting Big Baby and maybe Gabe Pruitt. But hey… Lucky will be there. So… WOOOO…. hooo.
Could be worse… you could fans of the Oklahoma City Thunder. On a scale of 1 to 100… how cheesy is that opening night going to be? A million? A billion? Will it be anything other than strobe lights, and sound effects of storms and thundering herds of buffalo? Excuse me while I start stretching my mockery muscles now.
Oh… and Monta Ellis might have been a total idiot and gotten hurt doing something NOT basketball related…. right after signing for $11,000,000 a year. Dummy.
