Hi! I’m Bray! Remember Me?

It’s been nearly 26 years since the WWE Universe was introduced to the mythical creature known as The Undertaker. For over two and a half decades we have been captivated by a character that has been the master of mind games and has the ability to keep the audience on the edge of their seats through their cryptic messages and paranormal powers.

Obviously the run of the Dead Man is on its last leg. It is just a shame that there are no characters on the roster now that can create the same mystique that Taker has spent a career creating. There is no character that can keep an audience entertained at a main event level both in the ring and on the mic. No one like that at all.

At least that’s what it seems those making creative decisions think!

Hey, look to your right! There’s Bray Wyatt! I remember him!

To say that WWE is missing the ball with Wyatt’s direction is an understatement as gross as Luke Harper’s once white wife beater. The man that has had WrestleMania encounters with The Rock, John Cena and even The Undertaker himself is now relegated to the back of a roster that is already lean in star power.

The New Face of Fear is currently in the midst of a program against future Hall of Famer Randy Orton so that is at least a plus. Once the two had their stare down on the SmackDown prior to SummerSlam it seemed like Wyatt was going to get the bump he has desperately needed.

Then Backlash happened.

Wyatt and Orton were scheduled to clash, but Orton couldn’t get medical clearance after his concussion sustained at SummerSlam. OK, that happens – it’s a physical form entertainment. When something like that happens, replacement plans are made on the fly – some good, some bad…some just mind-boggling!

The plan put in place was that Kane…oh, I’m sorry, Demon Kane (do we still have to do that?) filled in for Orton in a no disqualification contest. Again, that’s fine. Kane is a great veteran to get someone over.

… Kane won …

I don’t know any way to put a positive spin or a creative description for this … Kane won the match. Yes, Orton came down to distract Wyatt to further their storyline…but again…I repeat…KANE WON!!!!

WHY???

There is no good reason for Kane to come out on top. Plain and simple, this was a mistake.

Scratch that – a mistake would be something that only happens once. If you count the number of fingers on your hand, you will be able to count the number of televised matches Wyatt has won this year with room to spare.

No one can hold the attention of an audience like Wyatt. I don’t want to say that he can have a career similar to The Undertaker, but he has potential to! Give him a push and he will push back hard!

I expect to see Orton and Wyatt to be schedule for No Mercy in October. All signs are pointing to Orton coming out on top. I am still holding on to my naïve hope that Wyatt wins and starts moving back up the ladder.

But again, Kane won!
