Brad Lincoln and Jose Tabata both make their PNC Park debuts tonight and maybe it’s nice for them that they get a night in the spotlight (or maybe more nights … who knows at this point?) before the Pedro Alvarez show begins. Well, it’s a thought at least.
Tabata and Lincoln have a chance to endear themselves to the home crowd by ACTUALLY WINNING A BASEBALL CAME, FOR THE LOVE OF PETE, tonight. The Pirates haven’t actually been playing all that terribly over the last eight days, but they can’t score runs and that puts the pitching staff’s backs up against the wall pretty much nightly. The pitching staff is no great shakes, either, so these games have mostly ended in proverbial tears.
But maybe a return home with a hot Garrett Jones and a rookie pitching will spark something. Maybe it won’t, but that’s the sort of thing to worry about after it happens. For now, let’s get these two a proper homecoming and hope that maybe in return, they can get the Pirates a win.
First pitch is at 7:05 with Lincoln on the mound for the Bucs and Freddy Garcia is pitching for the White Sox. Clemente/Cangelosi is after the jump.
