– One of the last of the top remaining free agents has taken himself off the market – Jamal Crawford has signed with Portland.

– Orlando might claim that he is off the table, but Dwight Howard has reiterated that his demand for a trade remains.

– A heart exam on Kings’ Chuck Hayes has shown an abnormality.

– One of the league’s best players has had to retire far too early due to injuries – goodbye, Brandon Roy – we hardly knew you.

NCAA

UCLA dismissed misbehaving star Reeves Nelson from the team recently and Nelson apparently has decided he has had enough of playing for free – he’s signed a pro contract in Lithuania.

International

– Former NBA player Nenad Krstic continues to dominate the Euroleague, and has been named player of the week.
