The Hornets snapped a 3-game losing streak by defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves, 109-98 last night.  They are going to need to get locked in to some wins if they want to continue on pace to make the playoffs again this season.  The Hornets scorers were led by Mo Williams, former T-Wolf, with 24 points.  He also had 4 assists, 4 rebounds and a block to go with it.  He was joined in double-figures by Michael Kidd-Gilchrist with 18 points, 9 rebounds and a block.  Al Jefferson clocked in with 18 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals.  Gerald Henderson notched 17 points, 1 rebound, and 2 assists.  Kemba continues to knock rust off by scoring 16 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists, and 6 steals.  I believe the rust is coming off quite fast.  6 steals was quite the feat.

Beyond the double figures guys, Marvin Williams had 8 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists.  Lance had 8 points 4 rebounds and 4 assists.  My big number for Lance is 0 turnovers.  Lance is still learning his teammates.  As long as Gerald Henderson continues to put up the numbers he is, I can’t imagine the lineup changing any time soon.  I’m just ready for Cody Zeller to get back.  Speaking of our “big men”, Bismack Biyombo struggled last night as he was in foul trouble for most of the evening.  Biz had 2 rebounds and a block, but no points.  He didn’t shoot any, so it wasn’t a case of poor shooting, just a matter of not trying.

Tonight we face the current 4-seed Chicago Bulls, who we just beat in the Hive, before our road trip began.  I’d like to see the Hornets grab a victory tonight, and it’s very important in that “oh so tight” race for the playoffs in the East.  I really want our Hornets to make the playoffs again, but I am uneasy about having to face Cleveland or Atlanta.  Both are going to be quite the challenge for our Hornets.  I believe that we have a chance to get some playoff victories as long as the superstar calls are curbed, should we face Cleveland, or if Atlanta falls into a slump.  Can the Hawks just continue to stay red hot all the way up to and through the playoffs?  Time will tell, right?  For now, we focus on the opponent ahead of us, and we keep winning games.

Let’s Go Hornets!
