After what seemed like an eternity, the Hornets made good on their wish to make a splash in Free Agency. Lance Stephenson agreed to a 3 year, 27 million dollar contract with the Hornets early Wednesday morning.
This move solidifies the Hornets as a playoff contender, and may make them a sexy pick to go deep into the playoffs this year. If Stephenson cuts down on the on court antics, his defense and perimeter game could make for an exciting season. The fact remains that Stephenson is young and talented, and antics or not, his potential was to much to look past.
Stephenson led the league in triple doubles last year with five, and that kind off all around athlete is exactly what this team needed. With all the new parts that have been aquired, the depth and talent of this team is undeniable, now we just have to wait for the season to start to see if the Hornets can put it all together in a year that may be unforgetable!
