Hornets Take 9th Loss; Blown Out By Hawks

pegulapuzzlesabres

I’m keeping this brief for everyone. The Hornets were totally annihilated last night by the Atlanta Hawks, 105-75. They shot a horrendous 33% from the floor, 21.7% from the 3-point line (made 5 3-pointers), out assisted (31-20), and were out rebounded again, 44-38.

There’s really nothing I can say about this loss. We were manhandled in every aspect of the game and our top-10 defense seems to be non-existent. The only bright spot that I can say is that we don’t have another game for 3 days. I’ve been saying that we desperately need a break, and now we have it. There’s so much that needs to be worked on right now. We haven’t had more than a day between games since the time between Portland and Phoenix. These guys are professionals, and as Coach Clifford said, there was not a professional effort given last night.

I personally expect big things on December 3rd when we face the Bulls. Again, it will be a challenge, but after last night’s game, pride alone would have me poised to beat the stuffing out of whoever we play next. I guess we’ll see.

Since everyone got some minutes yesterday, I’ll share all of their stat lines:

· PJ Hairston: 15 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, & 1 block
· Gerald Henderson: 14 points, 4 assists, & 2 rebounds
· Al Jefferson: 11 points & 3 rebounds
· Jannero Pargo: 10 points, & 4 assists
· Bismack Biyombo: 7 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks, & 1 assist
· Lance Stephenson: 6 points, 3 rebounds, & 3 assists
· Cody Zeller: 4 points, 3 rebounds, & 1 steal
· Kemba Walker: 4 points, 6 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, & 1 block
· Jason Maxiell: 2 points & 3 rebounds
· Noah Vonleh: 2 point & 6 rebounds
· Brian Roberts: 1 rebound & 1 assist

So, there you have it folks. It was almost like the Hornets wanted to forfeit before they ever left Charlotte. We were down as many as 44 points in this game, and I’m not going to say that we were lucky to lose by only 30. Atlanta embarrassed us. I hope this game is etched in every one of our guys’ minds. This is the type of game some say should be forgotten. I say it’s one to remember. Use it to build up the rage for every other team we play this season. Most importantly, DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN.

Let’s Go Hornets!
