Last summer was a lot different than this past summer. The Los Angeles Lakers had just won another NBA championship, Carmelo Anthony was still a Denver Nugget, Tiago Splitter was projected to help the “Big 3” win a title in San Antonio, and LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh joined forces.
When the Miami “Heatles” were created last summer, James made a bold prediction by saying they would win seven NBA Championships.
Well, a guy who has actually won seven titles has spoken up about the prediction according to MySharoni.com (H/T to Brendan Bowers of Crossover Chronicles). And that player is former San Antonio Spurs player “Big Shot Bob” or as we know him, Robert Horry.
As for Robert Horry, when asked what he thought about LeBron’s notorious proclamation that he’ll amass more than 7 championship titles, Horry squinted at me and exclaimed, “Who?!”
Horry then followed that up with this, in conclusion:
Kidding aside, Horry said, “You gotta aim high…I hope that he does surprise us, that’d mean he did his thing like he was supposed to.” Horry smiled: “But it ain’t gonna happen.”
Right now Horry has a case. He does have seven NBA titles to James’ zero. In fact, Horry’s last title came when San Antonio swpet James’ Cavaliers in 2007.
Horry 7, Bron-Bron 0.
