Last time

Jeff Green’s bucket at the buzzer gave the Celtics a 93-92 victory over the Cavs last week. It was a game Boston had no business winning. The Celtics lead the season series, 2-1. Cleveland has lost 8 of 10 in Boston.

This time

Get it to:  Jeff Green

How hot is Green? 23.8 ppg, 56% FG over his last 5 games (or hotter than a goat’s ass in a pepper patch, as we like to say up north.).

Gotta stop: Kyrie Irving

He’s averaging 31 ppg on 61% shooting in 2 games vs Boston this season. I’d double him with Bradley and Lee and leave Wayne Ellington alone. Irving is still working his way back from a shoulder injury that forced him to miss two weeks in March. He’s played in two games, but has not been cleared to play in back-to-backs.

The Wild Card:  Paul Pierce’s right ankle

In the two games Paul Pierce has missed this season, the Celtics lost by 10 to Minnesota and 26 to Charlotte. He’s questionable with a right ankle injury. I’d like to think the Celtics could beat Cleveland without Pierce, but I know better.

How we see it goin’ down

The Cavs are mired in a 10 game losing streak. They’re losing games by an average of 13.5 points. Right now, lottery positioning means more than late season victories.

I’m waiting for the Celtics to start playing sound basketball, but I fear that won’t happen until KG returns.

I’ll take Boston in a squeaker. Credit the home crowd.

Celtics: 95.1

Cavaliers: 95
