Last time

The Celtics beat the Mavericks 117-115 in a double overtime mess back in December. Rajon Rondo had 15 points, 16 assists and 9 rebounds in 52 minutes. Dirk Nowitzki did not play.

This time

Get it to:  Avery Bradley/C ourtney Lee

One could argue that OJ Mayo is the Mavs’ worst defender (0.917 ppp, 27th percentile). IF the Celtics move the ball, Bradley and Lee might find themselves open on the perimeter or under the basket.

Gotta stop:  Dirk Nowitzki

After missing 27 games at the start of the season, Dirk is starting to come around. He’s shooting 52% and 45% 3 FG in March. One thing to consider; Dirk loves playing the Celtics. His 26.9 scoring average in 26 games versus Boston is his highest against any team.

The Wild Card: Jason Terry

JET returns to Dallas for the first time in a Boston uniform.  I expect him to come out gunning. Hell, he’s already predicting his 1st shot tonight will be a three. One thing to consider – his horrible road shooting percentage. It’s 12% lower.

How we see it goin’ down

Dallas may be 4 games under .500, but they are still a dangerous offensive team. They rank 6th in 3-point shooting percentage and 7th in turnovers.  Shawn Marion returns tonight after missing 8 games with a calf injury. He will provide a boost to a Mavs team that ranks 27th in ppg. Unfortunately, playing a poor defensive team doesn’t always translate well for the Celtics (see losses to NO and Charlotte).

I don’t have any faith in the Celtics winning on the road against a decent team.
