I’m not sure how hard the Tigers partied over the All-Star break, but they seemed about as sluggish as I do after a night to remember in tonight’s 8-2 loss to the Cleveland Indians.
Max Scherzer was less than stellar, giving up 4 runs on 5 hits and 5 (!) walks in just 5 innings. The bullpen was just as bad; Brad Thomas gave up 4 runs (2 of which were charged to rookie Robbie Weinhardt) before Enrique Gonzalez and Daniel Schlereth were able to stop the bleeding.
The offense was equally poor, managing just two runs against one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball. Carlos Guillen and Brandon Inge were both caught stealing in attempts to jump-start the offense. Of course, I’m more curious why they’re even on the move in the first place.
Hopefully the Tigers can wake up from their daze before tomorrow’s game. In the meantime, maybe these pictures can help them remember what they did over their 4 days off.
