People are bound to make plenty of Pirates/Astros jokes in the next couple days, but I’m downright excited for this game tonight. Pedro Alvarez’s bat is waking up, the Pirates are coming off of a great series against the Phillies, Brad Lincoln is making his first start since his gem in Chicago, and honestly I’m practically counting down the hours to this game. The Pirates have a way of making that sort of feeling change pretty quickly, but that’s still a pretty big swing from where we were at this time last week.
First pitch tonight is at 8:05 with Wandy Rodriguez going to the mound for the ‘Stros. Clemente/Cangelosi is after the break.

The big hits in Sunday’s comeback came off of Delwyn Young and Jose Tabata’s bats, and so its no surprise they’re Sunday’s Clementes. Jeff Karstens did not make a very good start, and that makes he and Ronny Cedeno the Cangelosis.
