I Made The Rooster

With WSU Football’s Fall Camp set to open in a little over ten hours, I thought I would share the most up-to-date roster that I could find.

As you will see, there are a variety of interesting notes to take from looking at this, to personnel listed to weight gains.

Read more after the jump!

First of all, do not jump to conclusiions because Rahmel Dockery, Alex Mitchell and Wendall Taiese are listed on the roster.  Even though we know Demetrius Cherry, Brock Lutes & Niko Aumua aren’t going to be in Pullman this year and they aren’t listed on the roster, until the school officially gives word on the aforementioned three, they are not enrolled.

In-Fact, Dockery took to his Twitter over the weekend and mentioned he would not be in Fall Camp but will be in Pullman by the start of the school year.

Moving forward…

Over the last few months, you may have seen incoming Freshmen, Darryl Paulo, listed at 6’4″ and 270 lbs and discussion immediately hinted he may move to DL.  Well, if you look at the roster, he comes in listed at 6’2″ and 240 lbs.  That is quite the discrepency and we shall see over the coming weeks which position he will actually wind up at.

Last Fall, OL Jake Rodgers out of Spokane’s Shadle Park HS came to Pullman right about 250 lbs.  In the last year he has added nearly 45 lbs and comes in at an eye popping 295!  Not too shabby for a guy who should be starting along the OL in the next year or so.  On the other side of the coin, OL Alex Reitnouer weighed 270 last year and for some reason has dropped to 242.  I have got to imagine that is a typo, as he looked like a beast at the Crimson & Gray Game a few months ago.  Cougfan ran a premium story last night on all of the off-season weight gains.

UCLA transfer and walk-on Justin Mann may have left he WSU program, as he is not listed on this roster.

I also notice a new Long Snapper listed, in Alex Den Bleyker, who is a walk-on hailing from Fremont, California.  Den Bleyker will likley be dueling with South Dakota State transfer Zack Koepp who is a Junior.  Hopefully he can continue honing his skills and takeover official duties as a RS So in 2013 after Koepp’s eligibility expires!

Taking a look at our projected OL it’s nice to see they’re filling those frames out to play the part!, Jacobson (306), Fullington (290), Roxas (293), Guerra (321), and Gonzalez (286).

The last thing I noticed between the two links provided in this post is that some kids just have difficulty packing on the weight, players like Nolan Washington, Connor Halliday, Steven Hoffart and Elliott Bosch.  Not that I am saying we want a bunch of Matt Eichelberger’s on our team, but when you can only added 5 lbs between your Freshmen and RS Freshmen season, a time ideal for adding weight, your body might just not accept the concept.

I Made The Rooster

I wish my body only allowed me to put on five lbs the first year I was in Pullman!

Have a great day, Go Cougs!
