Grange is revered as one of the greatest college football players to ever play the game. In a historic homecoming game for the ages on October 18, 1924, Grange scored six total touchdowns (four touchdowns in the first 12 minutes, a rushing touchdown, and a passing touchdown for his sixth score) and compiled 262 total yards in the first 12 minutes.
Illinois would go on to defeat Michigan that day 39-14 and give the Wolverines their first loss in two years.
Looking at the uniforms they are really cool as they are all gray with the numbers outlined in blue. The helmets are all white with the famous Illini “I” in all blue.
The Fighting Illini are 3-4 and 0-3 in the Big Ten West division.
