Last night’s win over the Astros officially bumped the Reds’ playoff odds over 50%. Wow. They now have scored the 4th most runs in baseball.
Their Pythagorean numbers are solid. Most importantly, they still have 45 games against Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, Houston, Arizona, Cleveland, Seattle and Kansas City. That’s 40% of the remaining schedule. None of those teams has a winning % better than .417. Throw in another 13 against the Cubs and Marlins, and that’s more than half their remaining games against sub .500 teams.
