In a game of inches, Bucs were off by a Miles worth

In a situation much like last weeks onside kick, most people will remember the 4th down and inches situation, and why it was set up in the first place when Kregg Lumpkin looks to have enough for the first down to begin with. Truth is the Bucs were deep enough in Titans territory to kick a FG, and thats all they would have needed had Josh Freeman not continued his penchant for throwing critical interceptions at the worst possible time. He threw behind Kellen Winslow Jr and the pass was intercepted.

With under ten minutes to go in the game, the Bucs were driving behind LeGarrette Blount’s driving force, with runs of 16, 14, and 7 yard runs sandwiched around a 9 yard Mike Williams gain too. But then the Bucs started going backwards. Holding on #82 Kellen Winslow, a needless play as he continues to make bonehead penalties. Then a false start by #76 Jeremy Zuttah. Then the inadequacies of the Bucs offense takes effect.

I do not know what this administration saw in Kregg Lumpkin to let Cadillac Wiliams go. A Cadillac with two bad knees is better than a perfectly healthy Lumpkin. A screen pass to him gets broken up….by the first tackler. Lumpkin will never amount to any kind of Yards after the Catch. The Bucs had to Punt.

Go back farther, before the Titans score their FG, its still 17-10 Bucs, and Tampa Bay has a 3rd and 2 from their own 42 yard line. LeGarrette Blount is running like crazy. What do we do, we pull Blount out and go to the shotgun? Bucs punt and Tennessee drives for a deciding FG.

The Bucs run defense let down the team once again. It seemed as though the Bucs had found a solution to the bleeding caused by opponents running backs. Today, it went back to epidemic standards again, as Chris Johnson gained 190 yards rushing.

The Bucs defense gave up yards in the first half, but it didnt give up scores. In the second half, it gave up both, that thats becoming unacceptable as the Bucs seem to be getting worse as the game goes on.
