If you haven’t heard, there have been multiple sources confirming that rookie quarterback Nick Foles will get the start this upcoming Sunday versus the Washington Redskins. So what does this all mean exactly?
The “Nick Foles Era” has officially begun! Sunday’s game versus the Cowboys might have been the last time we saw Michael Vick in a Philadelphia Eagles jersey. Vick suffered a significant concussion vs. the Cowboys and he might not see the field again this season. With Vick out, this season is over and its now time to see what Nick Foles has in his arsenal.
Foles played alright on Sunday and his stats reflected it. He was 22 for 32, had 219 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception. Something that disturbed me was the passes that Foles were throwing. His only interception thrown, he threw the ball at DeSean Jackson’s ankles and did not put the ball in the right spot. Also on his only touchdown pass, his deep ball hung up in the air and had the possibility of getting pick. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt that since he didn’t have a lot of practice time that he was rusty.
Hopefully, this week Foles gets better because if he does not, then the Eagles will be in trouble for many years to come.
