Remember when the Pirates played the Braves on ESPN and they beat them to stay tied for first place in the NL Central and we were all excited about the upcoming nationally televised games that the Pirates had?
Well, I’m pretty sure FOX is regretting shifting the Pirates and Brewers to a game of the week this weekend, because the Brewers unsurprisingly crushed the Pirates last night (the only surprised after the first few innings was that the Bucs managed to score at all against Zack Greinke. The Pirates/Brewers game is only being shown in a small swath of area between Pittsburgh and Milwaukee today, along with a weird placement in the most southern part of California. If you don’t live in one of those areas, you won’t be able to watch today.
Marco Estrada taks the mound for the Brewers and from his numbers it seems to me that he’s been quite a bit better than his 2-7 record or his 4.80 ERA, so don’t assume this is a good matchup for the Pirates just because of those things. He strikes quite a few hitters out and the Pirates being the Pirates, well, it’s safe to worry about that. Kevin Correia goes for the Bucs and home/road splits aside, I have no reason to think he’s going to do anything but get bombed by this Brewers lineup.
First pitch today is at 4:10.
