It's a tradition that goes back for as long as I can remember. That said, it's not necessarily one I always celebrate.
But this one was different.
Between games Monday, the Cleveland Indians honored Mariano Rivera with a gold record of Metallica's "Enter Sandman". And for the four of you that this sentiment confuses…"Enter Sandman" is the tune that signals the New York Yankees closer's entry into the game.
Oh, and that plaque itself? It wasn't a hard one for the team to secure…you see, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is just down the street from Progressive Field.
