Indy fading?

CBS guys say, no, not really

JUDGE: A little of both. They certainly weren’t the team they were a year ago and Peyton Manning turns 35 this year — which means that ever-popular window of opportunity is on its way down. But Manning has two or three more years left as a premier quarterback, which means the Colts should have two or three more years left as a premier football team. Let’s be fair: The club got clobbered by injuries this season, and I know it happens, but it’s not supposed to happen with the regularity it did here. Dallas Clark bowed out. Anthony Gonzalez bowed out. Austin Collie bowed out. Joseph Addai missed most of the season. So did a zillion defenders, with the Colts going through safeties like McDonald’s goes through hamburger. In the end, though, they still won 10 games, and if that’s a down season I know a lot of teams out there that would like to be so down.
