Phil B Wilson chimes in with some nuggets

* We receive a weekly “white book” with updated Colts statistics, basically more facts than you could ever dream of. Here’s some that caught my eye. The Colts have scored on 53-of-55 trips to the red zone, including 37 TDs (67.3 percent). The overall scoring and TD efficiency rank No. 1 in the NFL. The Colts’ streak of 41 consecutive red-zone scores ended when Peyton Manning wisely slid down near the goal line after gaining a first down in the final minutes of Sunday’s win at Oakland. It was the smart move, too. The Raiders couldn’t stop the clock. No need to score and give them the ball back, especially when considering the Raiders took the opening kickoff back for a TD. The Colts have scored 85 points in the last 2 minutes of a half, again No. 1. The Colts are also best at converting third downs in the red zone a 56.3 percent. Now this is both good and bad. The Colts lead the league with 37 10-plus scoring drives. The Colts are also tops with 20 10-plus scoring drives resulting in TDs. Imagine what these guys would do if the KO-return team provided better field position? As for the defense, the Colts have allowed opponents to covert just 5-of-41 plays on third down for 10-plus yards. That’s No. 1. As we know, you don’t want to get in third-and-long against these guys.
