Injuries continue to plague the Kings

Richardson, 21, underwent an MRI today at a local Sacramento hospital and the news came back in very disappointing fashion. According to the team, Richardson has a partial thickness tear of the right hamstring and will be sidelined four to six weeks.

The injury occurred with 1:06 remaining in last night’s game against the Warriors, which makes it that much worse to fathom. Richardson was playing very well and it seemed as if Dave Joerger was beginning to trust him a lot more.

He definitely has shown signs of potentially being that deep shooter the Kings have needed all season long but this injury will derail that from happening during the start of the official second half of the season.

He joins Omri Casspi who injured his right plantaris tendon on Jan. 17, Rudy Gay who ruptured left Achilles on Jan. 18, Garrett Temple who torn his right hamstring on Jan. 31 and Ty Lawson who missed the last four games with a strained left adductor muscle.

The Kings will desperately need to bring in some help via the Trade Deadline in the upcoming week. All-Star weekend will be crucial for Vlade Divac to make some phone calls, if they plan on making that push for the playoffs.
