The Kings’ injury report for today’s matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
- DeMarcus Cousins will miss his third straight game with a sore right foot. He is scheduled to meet with a foot specialist later today in Los Angeles for a second opinion. The All-Star has been nursing a myriad of injuries over the last few weeks and might be ready to call it a season. Cousins dominated when healthy this year, but tonight marks the 20th game this season he has lost to either injury or illness. On the season, the 24-year-old center is averaging 24.1 points, 12.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.5 steals in 34.1 minutes per game.
- Rudy Gay has been downgraded to out for tonight’s game in Oklahoma City as he continues to recover from a concussion. Gay had a headache following Tuesday’s game against the T-Wolves, which landed him back in the NBA concussion protocol. Per NBA rules, a player with continuing concussion symptoms are not allowed to play. The small forward has missed 10 contests this season and is averaging 21.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
- Rookie Nik Stauskas is questionable as well with a lower back strain. The former Michigan star missed Wednesday’s game with the injury and is considered day-to-day. Stauskas is averaging just 4.2 points in 69 games for Sacramento this season.
- Darren Collison is out for the rest of the season with a core muscle injury. The 27-year-old guard underwent successful surgery on March 3 in Philadelphia.
- Rookie forward Eric Moreland is out for the season with a left shoulder labral tear. He made three appearances, totaling two minutes of action in the NBA this season. Moreland is expected to be back for Summer League in Las Vegas.
According to the Kings’ “Participation Status Key,” Stauskas’ questionable status give them a 50 percent chance to go. We will keep you updated on the status of each player as we find out more.
