The Kings’ injury report for today’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
- Eric Moreland will miss the rest of the season with a left shoulder labral tear, Cowbell Kingdom has confirmed. Moreland is scheduled to have surgery this weekend to correct the issue which has plagued him since college. The undrafted rookie forward has made three regular season appearances this season, totaling a layup, rebound and personal foul in two minutes and five seconds of action. Moreland has also played seven games (six starts) with the Reno Bighorns of the NBA D-League, averaging 13.7 points, 12.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.6 blocks in 28.7 minutes per match. Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders first reported the news.
- Ramon Sessions is out with a low back strain. The point guard has been battling the issue for nearly two weeks and has missed five of the Kings’ last six games. The injury adds to Sessions’ troubles this season, as he’s averaging a career-low 6.1 points and 2.5 assists in 17.1 minutes per game (25 appearances, three starts). Ray McCallum has assumed backup point duties in his place.
- Omri Casspi is out with a left knee bone contusion. The same injury forced him out of seven contests in early December. Casspi played 12 minutes in Wednesday’s game versus the Boston Celtics, and the reserve forward is averaging 7.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 18.2 minutes a match this season.
