According to the Sacramento Kings, DeMarcus Cousins was not able to return to the practice floor this evening, and instead had an MRI taken on his injured left hip. Cousins pulled up lame in the Kings 106-101 overtime victory over the New York Knicks on Wednesday. The Kings are calling the injury a strained left hip flexor and results of his MRI are due back on Tuesday.
The 23-year old center has missed a total of seven games this season due to injury, including six straight earlier this month with a left ankle sprain. The Kings are 0-7 in games that Cousins sits out.
Cousins is having a career-year, averaging 22.5 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 32.5 minutes per game. His injury was not considered serious before the All-Star break, but there is no word yet on whether the early diagnosis has changed or if he will play on Wednesday when the Kings take on the Golden State Warriors at Sleep Train Arena.
