We are looking for an editor/writer. This could be you!
After recently joining the Bloguin sports network we have increased the number of writers contributing to our site. To maintain this momentum and growth we are looking to add an editor/writer to the site. This role will be involved in all majorsite decisions, so if this sounds interesting let’s continue!
How long have you been covering the NBA, and more importantly, how much do you know about the NBA’s bottom half? Since we focus a lot of our time on the lottery teams, we want someone who knows a lot about this side of the NBA, and shares a similar amount of intrigue and passion that we do. If you cover college basketball, or any other professional basketball league, let us know that as well.
We need someone who has experience with copy editing. You’ll be editing weekly content, and will need a sharp eye with picking out anything that needs addressing. Any sort of editing experience (via publishing, tutoring, modernizing quotes of classic literature) is valuable! What other skills do you possess? Are you familiar with Word Press? Know any HTML coding? These last two aren’t essential (Word Press is pretty easy to master), but we’d still like to know.
The big thing is, what separates you? Do you love analytics so much that charts are plastered all over your walls? Have you a keen eye for scouting talent? Sell us!
To reiterate, here’s a rundown of what we’re looking for.
Essential
– Experience in copy editing
– Creative mindset, able to think of new, exciting ways to cover the NBA and Lottery teams
– Two + years writing & covering the NBA &/Or the NBA Draft
– Good organizational skills
Desirable
– Strong connections around the NBA blogosphere
– Good knowledge of college basketball & the draft
– A keen user of advanced statistics
