Interview with Houston Texans Blogs

I happen to have Schaub as my fantasy team QB and  he has done me well all year, so you could say Im hedging my Sunday this week by starting him. How do Texans fans feel about Schaub?
Dustyn:Schaub catches grief from Texans fans but in my opinion he’s a good quarterback. In no way is he elite along the lines of Brady and Rodgers but Schaub gets the job done. He has been without his best WR (Andre Johnson) for a lot of the season and has still played well. The running game helps him out a lot but Schaub makes smart decisions and gets the ball to the playmakers.

The biggest turnaround for the Texans has been their Defense. You guys are winning close lower scoring games you never did before. What do you attribute that to the most?
Dustyn:The defensive turnaround is all thanks to new coordinator Wade Phillips. Phillips installed a 3-4 defense and has this unit playing incredible. We know Phillips would make them better but had no idea they’d be this good this fast. Even with the loss of Mario Williams, the defense is getting to the QB and making big plays. Free agent CB Johnathan Joseph has also been a huge addition.

We only have LeGarrette Blount, but you guys have TWO quality running backs. Talk to me about who is better right now, and what differs between the two?
Dustyn:Both Tate and Foster are great backs in the Texans one cut zone blocking scheme. I’ve said before that Tate is a great back but Foster is elite. The more work Tate gets the closer I see him coming to Foster. Foster finds a hole and explodes. If he can get a block and cut through an opening he gains at least 8 yards and has the ability to take it to the house. Tate seems to cut to the outside a lot more and when he turns the corner he is a bear for defensive backs to bring down.

If you could have any player from the Bucs traded to your roster on the Texans, who would you take? and why?
Dustyn:Even though he’s older I’d love to have the veteran leadership of Ronde Barber at CB alongside Joseph. I think he’d make the defense (especially vs the pass) that much better.

Bucs fans are divided about Raheem Morris. How do you and other Texans fans feel about Raheem Morris as the Bucs head coach?
Dustyn:Honestly with the Bucs being in the NFC we don’t get to see them as much as other teams. That being said I think Morris has done some great things in Tampa. He’s still a young coach and I think he has the team behind him and can get them to where they want to go.
