Could Manny Ramirez end up in a Chicago Cubs uniform in 2015? Possibly.
Tuesday, team president Theo Epstein talked about the possibility and, well…didn’t exactly rule it out.
“I want to see whether he wants to continue playing or not before I answer that question,” Epstein said of the 12-time All-Star. “We have a really nice relationship with Manny. He did an outstanding job helping the organization this year, and we’ll continue to stay in touch, depending on what he wants to do with his career.”
The embattled slugger spent this past season as a player/coach for the Cubs Triple-A affiliate, serving as a mentor for team’s top prospects Javier Baez, Kris Bryant and Jorge Soler. And with assistant hitting coach Mike Brumley not returning next spring…the job could be Manny’s.
