Is Miami Prepared to “Tank” against New Jersey?

Is Miami trying to avoid playing the Celtics and Cavs by tanking it against the hapless Nets tonight?  By benching Dwyane Wade and the starters it sure seems that way

It would make little sense for Heat coach Erik Spoelstra not to sit Wade, Jermaine O’Neal and Udonis Haslem, all of whom have been banged up recently.

And Doc Rivers should find little objection in sitting Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett on the second night of a back-to-back.

Boston had to go hard Tuesday because it still had a shot at the No. 3 seed and a chance to move out of the Cavaliers’ second-round bracket. Wednesday, there would be no such incentive against Milwaukee.

Similarly, Spoelstra had to play to win Monday in Philadelphia to assure his team finishing ahead of No. 7 Charlotte.

But Wednesday? Wednesday’s a day for the Heat and Celtics to set the table for the Bucks, a table for No. 5.

This is a interesting that the Heat would prefer to play the Hawks instead of the Celtics.  They did take Atlanta to seven games during last year's playoffs, although that was one of the least enthralling seven-game series in NBA history.

Keep an eye on the scoreboard tonight because if Miami is losing, you might see Doc give some run to Aztec Gino, Little Phunk and the weird green body-suited fans.  Stay tuned.
