Is Ruud Improving?

After the Pittsburgh game, Dan Sileo simply crucified No. 51 with the way Ladell Betts trucked over him. But in the last two games, Barrett Ruud has been a force involved in the wins over the Rams and Cardinals. Instead of getting trucked over by runners, or making tackles 20 yards down field, Ruud’s name is being called around the line of scrimmage, with big plays involved again. Against the Rams he had the second most tackles on the team with 8 ( 9 solo tackles were registered to Ronde Barber who had 10 total to Ruud’s 11). The difference is, they weren’t down field after getting burned. Ruud’s name was all over the loudspeaker on that Rams game, and we heard it again this past Sunday vs the Cardinals. Ruud finished the game at Arizona with only 6 solo tackles and no assists, but he had an interception and 2 passes defended. One of which would have been returned to the house had it not been tipped!

NOTE: Gerald McCoy continues to impress, even though he has not broken through with a sack yet, he got his Quarterback Hit stat in, as well as 3 tackles, 2 of which were solo.
