Jon Lester is very good at Fenway and he is always good against the Orioles. Put the two together and you really have an unfair advantage for the Red Sox. With the win tonight, Lester improved his career record to 12-0 against Baltimore. He pitched seven innings and gave up one run on five hits while striking out seven.
The Sox offense provided some early holiday fireworks with fourteen hits including three from Big Papi, two from Nava and two from Youk including a home run.
