It’s Déjà Vu All Over Again…Again

You've gotta think Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander has been waiting all draft to make this announcement.

It's Déjà Vu All Over Again...Again

That's right, with the 20th pick (426th overall) in the 14th round, Ben Verlander, the younger brother of the Tigers ace was selected by Detroit.

Ben, who was recently named Old Dominion University's 2013 "Outstanding Player" hit .367 with 11 home runs for the Monarchs.  Back in March, the outfielder made news when he tied an Old Dominion University school record by crushing three homers in a game.

But this isn't the first time, Ben flirted with being drafted.  In 2010, he was taken in the 46th round of the draft as a courtesy by the Tigers.

“This time around, it’s for real,” Verlander told the Virginian-Pilot. “I’d be drafted for being Ben Verlander, and not for being Justin’s brother.”
