Daisuke Matsuzaka is now the father of a baby boy weighing in at six pounds, 10 ounces.
The baby, who’s name was not released, arrived in the world at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning to Matsuzaka and wife Tomoyo. The birth was believed to have occurred in Boston with Dice-K present after getting a day off Saturday from manager Terry Francona.
It is now expected that Dice-K will start Opening Day for the Red Sox in Japan.
