I was all set to write an article and explain why the Brewers needed to re-sign Ben Sheets to a contract extension. His current deal runs through the end of next season and I felt it was imperative to lock him up for another four or five seasons. That was until tonight.
Sheets left the game before the start of the second inning while warming up. On his last warm-up toss Sheets came up lame with an injury to his left leg. Sheets tried to stretch it out and jog it off but he needed to be pulled. It’s the third game this season that Sheets had to leave early due to an injury. Needless to say this puts a damper on the Brewers chances at the playoffs and leaves many Brewers fans wondering if Sheets will ever be able to stay healthy for an extended period of time.
