The Coyotes are on a hot streak right now. They have won their past seven games. And it seems ownership may be worked out soon so we are good right now.
It seams Tipp (or someone, Doan maybe?) has finally laid into the boys. They all seem to be playing with some passion and really wanting to win. They appear to be playing a more consistent 60 minutes and being slightly more aggressive.
I would like to see them play a little tougher and a little more aggressive though. They seem to back off of being aggressive too soon and just let the other team win some of those little puck/faceoff battles.
We’ve lost Jovo again. This time to a broken orbital bone. His presence will be missed (more by some than others) but the Coyotes have brought back Yonkman to take a spot on the blue line. I am a fan of Yonkman. He has a big body and isn’t afraid to use his size or rather knows how to use it unlike some (See: Hanzal, Marty). He gives the blue line some nice grit.
They also sent Turris down. I am not freaked out about this. Turris should have spent more time at Mad-town or in the AHL to begin with. He needs to get some more seasoning. The kid has got skills but they just aren’t showing through in the NHL or he’s not being put in situations to let his skills shine enough.
The Coyotes are on a huge road trip right now. Unfortunately I will miss Tuesdays game and it is probably the one I was looking forward to most. Coyotes at Flyers. My two teams battling it out. I definitely want the Coyotes to win. The West is just too damn close and they need all the points they can get until the end of the season. Someone say Hi to Jeff Carter for me, k? k.
Coyotes are currently first in the Pacific (3rd in the West) but the Sharks (amongst others) aren’t too far behind. I’m not sure I like all the teams being this close together. You can go to bed in one place, wake up and be pretty much out of a playoff spot. It’s almost too much for my lil heart to handle!
