The Red Wings may have been outshot 32-30 in their own building (meh, minor details), but it sure was comforting having Mr. Norris, Nicklas Lidstrom back on the ice. The Red Wings did a spectacular job killing the two penalties they committed tonight and a lot of it had to do with the Captain’s presence as he was on the ice for a little over half the time of the penalties. Lidstrom in total played 24:07, had 2 shots, blocked 2, and was +1.
Also, good call by Detroit’s PR group to have Doogie Howser dress like Lidstrom and fill in for him at the post-game press conference so Lidstrom could go home and catch some quality Z’s for Game 2.
Go Wings!
