Breaking news: This trade is just being finalized as we speak between the Philadelphia Phillies and the San Francisco Giants. This trade was rumored on Monday morning and this afternoon it finally came to fruition.
The Philadelphia Phillies traded OF Hunter Pence to the San Francisco Giants for OF Nate Schierholtz and minor league players catcher Tommy Joseph and pitcher Seth Rosin. This season, Schierholtz is batting .257 with five home runs and 17 RBIs.
Now, the minor league prospects the Phillies are getting in return are very young. Joseph is a catcher down in Double-A and is batting .260 with eight home runs and 38 RBIs. Finally, Rosin is only in Class-A Advanced and has a 4.31 ERA with 68 strikeouts.
