NHL Awards were last night. Yay? Bruins didn’t take home any hardware last night. Not that anyone expected that in the first place. This past season wasn’t exactly award-winning worthy. Apparently at least one person thinks that Tuukka and Chara should’ve taken home a little something-something. Julien also got a vote for Jack Adams. Really? Has to be Edwards. Who else can it be? No one else would be that stupid.
To be fair, Tuukka did have a great rookie season. If he played more he might’ve made a stronger run for the Calder and Vezina.
As for Chara and Julien… well, yea, we got nothing.
This year’s winners:
Calder: Tyler Myers Selke: Pavel Datsyuk Art Ross: Henrik Sedin Casper the Ghost
Rocket Richard: Steven Stamkos and Sidney Crosby Adams: Dave Tippett Vezina: Ryan Miller Jennings: Martin Brodeur Masterton: Jose Theodore King Clancy: Shane Doan Lady Byng: Martin St. Louis Messier Leadership: Sidney Crosby Norris: Duncan Keith NHL Foundation Player Award: Ryan Miller Hart: Henrik Sedin

It’s a new day and the day before the 2010 NHL Draft. Yesterday was surprisingly slow for stupid trade rumors, so we’re expecting them to come out of the wood works today.
Speaking of trades. The Chicago-Atlanta trade is… special. And still “unofficial.” The Thrashers made quick improvement to their team. Blackhawks got the cap space relief they were looking for. Buff, Eager and Sopel gone. How’s that for a post-Stanley Cup buzzkill? And how awkward will that make Sopel’s Gay Pride Parade walk be.
Chances he’s wearing a Thasher’s jersey to the parade? About 60%.
Thrashers also named Bruins assistant coach Craig Ramsay as their new head coach. He worked with the penalty kill and defense, so he earned his keep in Boston.
