The South Carolina baseball team may have something up their sleeve when the hit the field in Omaha for the College World Series and it goes by the name of Jackie Bradley Jr. Recently, Bradley Jr. received the go ahead from his doctor to resume all baseball activities, including swinging a bat. He hit off a tee today with no pain and participated in “soft toss.” All good signs for having Bradley, Jr. being part of the team come Sunday versus Texas A&M.
If you recall, Bradley, Jr. injured his wrist on a fielding play on April 23rd at Mississippi State. According to Tanner:
“Could you see him in a game probably? Yes. Would he start? Probably not.”
Active rosters for the CWS must be finalized by Thursday night, so it will be known by Friday whether or not Bradley makes the trip to Omaha and is listed as an active player on the 27 man roster.
If it was up to Bradley Jr., well you can read how he feels by reading this tweet he posted from his Twitter feed:
Time to shock the world. Season ending injury? Yeah rightttttt, try again
Something tells me you will see Bradley Jr. in Omaha, part of the team in a reserve role if for nothing else to have his leadership on the bench as the Gamecocks look to defend their crown.
