There might not be a stronger position on Penn State’s 2013 Big Board than tight end. We’ve already brought you Adam Breneman, Chris Brickhouse and Andrew Isaacs – and now we present to you Columbus (OH) Bishop Hartley Jacob Matuska.
It’s already been a busy summer for Matuska. “I went to the University of Cincinnati’s one day Senior camp, as well as the University of Toledo’s one day camp and the University of Notre Dame’s Future Stars Camp,” he told NittanyLionsDen.com in a recent interview. “Toledo and Cincinnati both have offered me, and those two schools have been showing the most interest so far,” he said, adding that Notre Dame has been showing more interest since he camped there. “Notre Dame is my dream school,” Matuska said, “[But] Cincinnati, Ohio State, UCLA, Penn State, and Michigan State are some other schools that I have interest in.”
“I will be open to playing at other places, but Notre Dame is just the school that I have liked and is my first choice as of now,” he admitted.
When it comes time to make a decision, what will Matuska be focusing on? “I really am looking for a good environment to be in. Like my high school. I really enjoy the family type of environment.”
What is it that is making Matuska so highly recruited? “I think what most coaches like about my game is my athletic ability. Especially because I am as big as I am. I think that being this size and being as athletic as I am helps catch coaches eyes.”
Jacob is 6’5″ and 240 lbs. He self reports a 4.77 forty.
