Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston was a suspect in a sexual assault case. This really started two years ago when a woman originally identified a suspect between 5 feet 7 inches tall and 5 feet 9 inches tall.

Winston’s attorney Tim Jansen confirmed Winston and the accuser engaged in consensual sex.  DNA evidence confirms that Winston and the accuser had sex.

The accuser’s family claimed that this was rape and that Jansen’s statements were a public relations cover to protect Winston’s image.

There were major questions regarding the timetable of this investigation. The timing of this was very strange to say the least. Why did such a high profile case with DNA evidence take so long to solve? With everything needed, this should have been easy to solve.  Why did everyone hear about this prior to the ACC Championship and a key point during the Heisman Trophy voting?

The evidence confirmed the accuser and Winston had sex but there was no evidence that suggested this was rape. It was announced on Thursday that Winston would not face charges.

Winston led the Florida State Seminoles to a 45-7 victory over the Duke Blue Devils in the ACC Championship. He passed for 330 yards and three touchdowns.

The Seminoles will battle the Auburn Tigers in the Vizio BCS National Championship.
