Yes, it’s that time of year again. We’re in to the double digits until Badger football arrives on August 30, 2014! Over the next 99 days we’ll give you a look at the Badgers that make up the 2014 roster and
Up first is one of the more intriguing players on the defensive roster heading in to 2014 — redshirt junior defensive end James Adeyanju.
Adeyanju’s Story So Far:
– He’s played in three games each of the last two seasons, thanks to extreme depth along the defensive line.
– In each of the last two seasons, Adeyanju has recorded just one tackle and did that in 2013 in the game against Indiana.
– His major is Life Sciences Communication.
What to Expect in 2014:
With every starter on the defensive line gone, Adeyanju’s best chance to see major minutes will come this season. However, it appears that he could be down the depth chart a bit, with Konrad Zagzebski, Chikwe Obasih and Alec James at least ahead of him at defensive end. The good news is that Adeyanju provides more speed off the edge than Zagzebski, but also more strength than the pair of redshirt freshman. That combination should get him on the field more this season, especially given defensive coordinator Dave Aranda’s proclivity to giving teams different looks with sub packages.
