Wah wah the Steelers defense isn’t as good as it was last year. They suck and can’t hold late-game leads and we’re only 5-2 wah wah.
Seriously, I was getting tired of all the nonsense chatter about the defensive struggles. Sure, they weren’t playing as well as the 2008 squad in the first few games, but are you really expecting miracles immediately after a 7 month layoff? Come on now.
James Harrison further shut you up by scoring AFC Defensive Player of the Month honors. Thanks to Cotter for the tip. And since he alerted me, he got to choose which one of my James-Harrison-with-a-chick-or-two pictures I would use for this post. Yes, there’s more, but you don’t get to see them until Silverback gets another award.
In 4 games this month, James put up a whopping 25 tackles, 7 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and a fumble recovered. And he got illegally held another 2,000 times.
He previously won the award as defensive player of the month in November of 2007. Yes, I was there to document it. The very origins of the “chickadee and MS Paint” concept rests in the early stages of that season. And back then, we were all pumped for a month in which Silverback got 19 tackles and 5.5 sacks. But that was also with 6 forced fumbles. The dude is nuts.
Congrats to James. And may he keep winning awards so I can keep pulling out these awesome pictures.
