In the midst of the Celtics blowing out the Los Angeles Lakers Friday night was some back and forth trash talking between Jared Sullinger and Lakers guard Nick Young. Young reportedly left a group interview in the Celtics visiting locker room visibly upset after he was asked what happened.
It turns out Young was upset because of Jared Sullinger’s trash talk, as Young explained to Baxter Holmes following the Lakers home loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday.
“I don’t like when people talk trash and then they get the W after and they feel like they did something,” Young said. “I don’t like that feeling.”
What exactly did Sullinger do that bothered Young?
“Just hitting shots, talking trash, looking at the bench,” Young said. “It made me feel like I was a punk or something. I don’t stand for that.”
What I gather from those quotes is that Nick Young’s feelings were hurt.
Well, sorry Nick, but trash talking is a part of the game. And if you’re offended by what Jared Sullinger said to you, I wonder how you survived trips to Boston when Kevin Garnett was wearing green.
If you don’t like it when people trash talk when they win, don’t let them win.
