I try to watch "Bull Durham" at least once a year…right around Opening Day.
Some times I succeed, others, well, it just doesn't happen. This year, however, I made an extra effort to watch the classic baseball movie because, as you might of heard, the Ron Shelton masterpiece just turned 25. And to mark the occasion, the Toronto Star had members of the Blue Jays bullpen recite one of the movie's more popular exchanges.
Which one? This one.
Now…here's that same scene as played out by Neil Wagner, Brett Cecil, Steve Delabar, Darren Oliver and Casey Janssen. And, yeah, you'll have to click the picture of Cecil to get to the video.
Sure it lacks the punch (and a few choice words) of the original, but, c'mon…only one of the dudes reciting the famous scene (looking your way, Darren Oliver) was old enough to see the movie while it was in theaters. With a parent and/or guardian of course.
Now, if only the Toronto Star could have gotten Munenori Kawasaki to take part…the internet would explode.
